Excitement opens the game, makes a move or two, laying waste to the lessons early made. Maybe the science forgets its use or remembers it too keenly. ' .. I will rest against your heart, ~ hoping .. ' Guess the simple element really is to say, 'I love you' and show it with a sweetness rather than a tumble..is a basic but essential sum of the total. ' .. retains a warm solution ~ within my breast ~ an agent to buffer .. '
Perhaps? Questioned your fine words, made my own answers from what I think I suspect but - might not!!!

love your insights, emma...your poetic mind always amazes me as much as your pen.

Relationships are definitely like puzzles and the chemistry is all important. It is amazing to me how you made science seem romantic! I liked this one. Lydi**
Eloquently written Jacob. Our senses become fatigued after constant stimulation, so we adapt to a stronger trigger for our desires. "...an agent to buffer the dissolving---
one to keep us solving
the puzzle" Our strongest hopes are to continue the stimulation, and to savor the chemistry that connects the two.

The gloss wears off and the romance gets toned down and as we settle into acquiescence it often leads us down a path of questions. This skips along Jacob with the embedded rhymes a clever feature.
The start is always fireworks, heart beating in tandem.
Then life takes over.
Over time you may become great friends, companions. Or you become the distant person wondering what corner to turn.
