ascertain a heart beat ever so slight, a murmur whisper nothing said, no need, the stethoscope finds that inkling of love
it is born from a womb of ambivalence of apathetic thoughts conjoining with one
another chemistry of nonchalant approach indifference takes off its clothes
the bare naked truth is an infant's pulse a tiny breath of love
yes, there is a heart beat love has life and life has love,
sssshhhhhh.... I hear a heart beating... a Jacob heart, but whisper please so as not to scare away that spark of love embedded ever so slightly... a beat a beat a beat palpations that just may turn into arrhythmia... one can hope, right ??!! as long as it isn't fatal...
I think though Jacob since you wrote this, it is no longer a secret, eh.. lol
stealing from Isabella below, it is "intriguing" and I love it even if I must keep quiet... ;0)
redzone
ps, did that silly cupid catch you again Jacob... want me to mess him up some for you???

This piece is most intriguing to me. I read it three times and can't put my finger on exactly why. Is intrigue ok when you might have been after a more specific reaction? I.I.
i am pleased with any reaction to my pieces...and intrigued works for me very well, thank you. .. read morei am pleased with any reaction to my pieces...and intrigued works for me very well, thank you.
i am glad if a reader stops and thinks when reading...it gives me hope that my writing is touching some kind of nerve.

this is subtly uplifting, and your implicit execution of such positivity is very unique: instead of urging for happiness, you are urging to ignore passivity
every living thing in this world deserves to be enjoyed and not be taken for granted; lovely work!
People who should never have a baby often do have one....and the child becomes a casualty. Yes, a child SHOULD be a tiny breath of love, but all too often people do not treat it as such. Powerful write. Lydi**

I like the actually birth. That part where you count the digits, and the world is fine. Doesn't matter if the baby's the wrong colour. As long as you've checked for twenty digits, and they're there. All is good.

yes, all is good...love is universal...or should be.
thank you, Paul.

Babies are not always convenient; pesky little angels who require far too much attention.
Many of us strongly feel these truly unwanted human cherubs must then be barbarously snuffed out--for their and everyone's own good.
After all, what other more humane solutions could possibly be found?

dear Jacob... a promise is a baby's sigh
