from the womb of acknowledgement

from the womb of acknowledgement

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

from the womb of acknowledgement

placid fornication, words
form together like spliced bodies

making love, making lines
making intimate themes
and rhymes

abed in abetting
among
sheets of linen
of linear lines
of belief
of structure
procreating in response to sounds
of life

heart beats
heartbeats
reproducing poems
from infinite kisses of the keys

it's never just a flirtation
but an affiliation
with an excitation
reconciliation
with a muse
we just can't refuse---

thank you, Dale.

There is something very intimate about writing, especially when it flows naturally, but when it's forced it is a bit like fornicating (we just aren't supposed to do it but can't help it.)
