Crow's Nest

Crow's Nest

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Crow's Nest

long times,

are by-lines

of scattered stories

of distant hearts

and years marked mostly

by isolation

love's incubation

waiting to be born again

into each other's womb

tears create buoyancy

for emotions,

which become shipwrecked fantasies

and memories

become castaways

praying to see that face,

those eyes,

touch that skin

absorb the warmth

which now reminds

of

long times

not spent together

just

by-lines

and deadlines

of scattered stories

of distant hearts.

Reading this poem brought back a thought I often have that each relationship leaves such a mark on us forever and also that no relationship is a chapter really closed. We keep re-visiting those pages.Somewhere, we always keep waiting. This writing touched me so.

You are most welcome Jacob.
So many failed relationships, effort spent in seeking, but not finding 'true love'. In the meantime we reflect on the failures and are haunted by the juxtaposition of the love we shared and the hurt we have felt.

But you say it all in a far more eloquent fashion!
