telltale keepsakesA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertotelltale keepsakes
in the
junk drawer, my heart, under old tattered
scarves and saddened
lingerie
memories of nights of
silken wonder texture of skin and bone the revelations in the junk drawer
forgotten taboos the in-between
relationship the November kind of
love but you've forgotten
and put your mirror on the other side of
your vanity and my face is no longer
behind you the arms of my echoed
voice
whisper in muscled tones but you're in a
different room altogether and i'm shuddering in
the dark
of my own token
loneliness.
