This has a brittle voice Jacob, one I sadly relate to. The opening stanza sets the scene so accurately for me as we survive the duplicity of being let down.
Junk and timeless memories accumulate together.
Indeed, they might all be more treasured than not--since we obviously can't bring ourselves to throw them out.
Stunning piece of work, Jacob!
things in a junk drawer are usually things that might got lost in the world at large. some hearts are better off there . my heart i wish would be shop-vaced right up so it didnt have to be sifted through while someone was hunting for a lucky find. I do like when it can't be closed and my heart is the old wrench in the back not allowing closure. Great Poem and use of symbolism!

saddened lingerie, silken wonder....gorgeous write dear Jacob. The bittersweet workings of the memory can take us back in time once again, proving that the time machine does exist. Loved it.
Waw
i miss your work
something about looking through any drawer
it gets me everytime
the brain recalls moments and lives for seconds
with that scent .... that whisper
and reality kicks in somehow
