Trust (for L.B.)

Trust (for L.B.)

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Trust

 (for L.B.)

the soft sensuous ashes

that smolder among your words

pervasive poems

waiting to Phoenix into a labyrinth

of inspiration,

and i at the opening of the maze

touched by the sound of the flames

let you take my hand

and guide my pen through hallways of magic metaphor

i follow,

your phrasing says "trust the combinations of syllables"

they will open the right doors

and rooms with extravagant views will lie behind

there is brilliant light even in windowless interiors

and my shadow

waits to rise

with the blue tipped images

as i eventually

find my own voice

departing from the convolution of semantic frustration

i was

before i stepped into your pages.

Fanning myself.....so very seductive and sensual! I believe you OWN the magic metaphor, Jacob. Your words do open doors, never doubt it. Wonderful! Lydi**

That's an amazing sexiness to the alliteration in your opening, j.
But so it should be. As a love? letter to a muse, I would not expect less.
If inspiration comes from many directions, let it come like this.

Perhaps a love poem to your muse Jacob? Or perhaps the marriage to same?
As ever wonderful literary art.

I loved this! It feels like your writing about your "muse". You've learned (or are learning) to trust the paths your mind takes as words find themselves on paper. There's something revitalizing and hopeful about writing a poem. Something maddening about being at its door and waiting to step in. Loved it.

Those of us who are trusting souls believe the words -- and it burns so much when they are proven to be false. I have experienced this in my "real" non-internet life, as well as here. It is a difficult lesson for the honest.

I just realized something
i think i got to know a guy from his poem
and i may have trusted him through that
i believed everything he wrote
So much truth to your words
It is a point of connection and trusting
I guess if he was saying the truth
God knows

Beautiful as always :)
