butterfly eyesA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertobutterfly eyes
small
pane slender frame
of
reference she remembers them
all
a widow still
clinging to the memory of her woeful wasteland of
lovers--- heavy dust on the glass
he wants to wipe away
the soiled past Windex her dreams,
but she turns from the
window draws the shade
returns to the cocoon she went back to after the last
entomologist clipped her wings.
