resonant anglesA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
i read
your affluent affectations and my own words
committed suicide by preposition
of, to, in and under duress of syllable
spirit in downtrodden dunes buried near a sea of
rapture
i swam on the waves of
your semantic genius death by drowning a rush of inordinate
keeping felt my poems seeping into small puddles of
redundancy
cursive swirls coming to an inert
period
i lay splayed on
deserted beach toes full of fruitless
sand each grain an echo of
vulnerability
i heard my name in
repeated tone and could no longer make
out the name "poet"
