Re-sod

Re-sod

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Re-sod

i'm an ache in the grass

a figure of shadow

denouncing a majority's sun

a blade of indifference

in a perfect lawn

not cut like the others

smoothness is a rough edge for me

i find my own sodden soul

among the fine earth

whether it accepts me or not

i will grow tall and lean

in a direction of spontaneity

that is planned to go

in opposite direction.

We must have order!
No tall and lean spontaneity; no opposite direction--nothing but uniform sod!
We will have this, or there will be far more than "an ache in the grass!"
So sayeth The Almighty Controllers!

Ha- we both wrote about grass this week... We must be longing for it
It's color, a different season than now.

Empowering words....the introspection is great. You march to the beat of YOUR drummer...and that is a very good thing, Jacob. We don't need to be like the others to be successful. Lydi**

thank you for your kind words, Lydi...yes, we need to be ourselves...

I think steering one's own course is a time-honoured tradition and it's positively expected from poets.
'ache in the grass' - too funny Jacob.
