A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

inside Turner Classics

Frank O'Hara's blues,

with Lana Turner sax

moody temperate soul

she drank, he sank into the cushion

of his writing,

pleading for her to get up

but her party was over before it started

a film n'oir of black and white dreams

in living blond

and his little tv was obsessed

his heart her tube

electrocution of elocution

a jersey shore

sand in his eyes

he wept

then crashed

and his pen no longer begged

for her reincarnation in a poem

movie stars transcend

and poets find certain clouds of endearment

to make sky pilots

out of tragic women

it's raining at the moment

i think i feel some tears falling

even though the poem is silent.

never got a chance to say goodbye

thank you Lana and Frank

i replaced the tube

and still watch that little tv

in my mind,

just before i pick up my pen

and emulate...

the words in blond demeanor

remind me of an ex

who looked something like

she did

before the fall.

first ... i have to thank you for sending me on the search ending with his poem and then on to her brief biography .. i am unsure what and when Lana's fall was ..i assume it was Franks image in his poem .. but there is much in your style that can be puzzling and intriguing .. i like your depiction of separation between the two ..shore to shore .. i think your work with "blond" is very genius ..genius is say! ;) what a drag to pick up the pen all ready to go and up pops the ex ..damn! :{ but jacob..you had already penned another fine work ..thank you for sharing ..i was led on fruitful inquirings :))

Not many movies today are rated as high as the old black and whites. There are so many in film today I mix up their names. Love the oldies. Watch the classics on 132 here. Valentine

WOW....just WOW! Old movies...romantic as hell in black and white and yet your words make them burst with color. The oldies make us remember other times in our lives, don't they? Loved it. Lydi**
