Many things fall from a foolish sky. Some blacken the heart, some sear the soul oh so briefly and yet come spring the snow melts, birds sing and all is right with the world. Or so I've heard. Good one, j.
Winter seems to have been an inspiration for you. One cannot deny the iciness of your words yet mingled with a feel of comfort. The title is awesome. Another really good one. (Bit I'll always say that)
I am reminded of Dickinson's "I cannot live with You" love poem of how she tried to explain away life's obscurity (her own obscurity) by the conundrum of the hearts fits and tides:
"because you saturated sight
and i had no more eyes
for sordid excellence
as paradise".
She is conflicted by her very own "Heart's Vault", her very own acrimony; her very own disharmony. You write like a man sitting on the highest mountain dear friend. One eye is on how you got there and the other is on how you get back down....beautifully written.....dana

Small comforts in times of strife. That is sometimes all we humans have.

yes, and we must appreciate those very small comforts..when it is all we have to smile upon.

Okay, this one was too cryptic for me. I read it over and over again- trying to decipher it. But i found myself lost in the blizzard and finally buried in the snow.

I have enjoyed your work today. Especially this one.
"blissful blizzard of words
uncompromising utopia
in a wearisome winter's tale"
The above lines left the reader with something to think about. I wanted to know and read more my friend. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Looking back at older poetry and remembering why you wrote it perhaps? Sometimes I think my older poems are like a diary only I understand. Is love foolish? No, I don't think so. I think it is always worthwhile....then again my rose colored glasses still fit! :) Lydi**

Only because we share a thread of lunacy, my friend! :)
What a lovely synergy. It's very cold out today so I lit a fire, sat down, and began to think about someone I knew once - a long while ago. Then I thought "I shall read some poems!" So, this was lovely, fascinating, spikey, and, in a way, warm and comforting. I wish you much joy in the coming year, Jacob. Take care -
