a fifth of sanityA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
a
splash of Beethoven the swirls in serious
collusion dark waters silent ponds no sounds, just
vibrations 'neath the waves of reality
we are the fifth
symphony bleeding into the ninth a disruption of faith, a world gone as mad as
he
and the music in odd
tones writhing like a lizard
mind
i feel violins erupt
with the words i write purpose as blunt as
muffled percussion
the conductor in
peculiar pantomime seduces me to poetic
recourse
an intercourse of uneasy
feelings
i long for some soothing
Schubert knowing i am but an
unfinished symphony, taking long walks in a
clustered wood....
