We do tend to complicate things. Stepping over the solstice into the darkness of love's winter, waiting for a new sun to burn through the haze, but all we can do is stare at love from a distance. Good write, j.
There are times in life we have to change our attitudes for self-preservation purposes. A one time love turns into a good friend and perhaps that is a good thing. The sun rises and brings with it a dossier of facts....ones we might have previously ignored. Your poetry consistently makes me think, Jacob. Lydi**
I wish we get the vision and space in life where we can experience this phenomenon "the sun doesn't burn it simply illuminates"
Thank you for this write...
Some cosmic relationships are always from afar. I am not sure if editing fully forms the words but the burn becomes slower less painful and the love richer... more embodied.

such insights in your review...thank you, Queenie...
ahhh also I love this ... how long does it take to edit the first version? A timely tale of love lost and life in balance again found. Yes, we can all appreciate the sun at a distance :) X
An altered arrangement.
Is it possible for a man and a woman--after a previous tempestuous love affair--to "merely" become friends?
If, apparently, he feels her value from a distance and "the sun doesn't burn/ it simply illuminates."
True friends is certainly infinitely superior to any degree of enemies.
Unique piece, Jacob!
