this love is so elusive! Maybe that is what draws you to it. The prey that is easily caught might not be as fun for you. But the prey fears capture for their own reasons; maybe being devoured isn't on their list of "fun things to do today". The trophy to the hunter is a head on the wall to the prey

very insightful review, D.
thank you for your words.
The hunt, the mystery is enchanting, the learning and revealing of ones self is definitely exciting...But I think when you reach that destination and a relationship blooms...love... that's the ultimate prize. Awesome metaphor Jacob. Starz x
Coyness and shyness can be so entrancing. It makes us think of mystery, the unknown...is there anything as alluring?
It's a great bow that you have stringed j.
Trying to get someone to notice you....to start a relationship with you...can be thrilling, but the real thrill of it starts when the relationship starts if you ask me. Yes, the prize is being in that person's arms. I liked the metaphor. You don't write in the romantic realm often, but you do it so well. Lydi**
Most hunt for the thrill of catching the prize, but the prize here is something more meaningful. To be in one another's arms, in love. I suppose it could mean a one night fling but my romantic heart reads it as a love poem. The desire to catch the ultimate prize ~ love.
It's all about the hunt, a trophy is but a trophy, it's nice and stable but the chase lies excitement, the battle of wits.

Been my experience that once a trophy is won, the hunter begins scanning the woods for another "dear" to bring down. We want what we don't have; we eventually tire of what we do.
While people are "in love," they cannot see reality; they see only the outward projection of what their own emotions have created to pique their interest, spice up their lives and/or meet an as of yet unmet need.
Sorry for the cynicism.
"Hunt" can only be regarded as exceptional, Jacob.
