a marriage of emergenceA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
their
Broadway was Camelot with window dressing, and sparse embodiment,
sharp accents, and an
actor's charm a limo driver slowing
down the line,
of fire, reels burning and
bursting
Edith Head's costumes
exploding Oscars in hospital
hallways leaning on a gurney
tie loosened the gloves are off ending, a disturbed
dissident
a tarnished crown, a blond mourner in the
corner shielding her face from
scrutiny
and little prince saluting a king
confused by parades with no floats, just long black cars.
