passion of the irregular verbs

passion of the irregular verbs

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

passion of the irregular verbs

shake hands with the fire,

it will consume your words

to brittle afterthoughts

the baked bread of botanical realities

summed up in a few tendered stanzas,

the brazen flames

typed with seared fingers...

a poet's urn

and ashes in the refrain

the chorus charred with a concubine's misgivings

i do love the muse, really

even if all we ever have

are constant "one night stands"

This thought of a muse
its a source of inspiration
one gets lost in the ambiguity
because in all that is not mundane
is a doorway to life

enjoyed this one very much

thank you, PoetryWorld...

Life is a collection of moments, great and small, and each one is as profound as the one before and after. Your play on words is masterful.

Happy Thanksgiving Jacob!
Wonderful! It's so true. The muse comes and goes as she/he pleases and yet we devote ourselves to the muse. "the baked bread of botanical realities" The bread of your muse is always tasty, Jacob. Lydi**

Exactly Jacob, are we not just one night stands in the writing field, read today, forgotten tomorrow.Time has a way too of erasing the achievements of many great literary entertainers their works not published anymore, invisible to young readers today that may find them by chance. I like this. I feel that as new writers here become in vogue the old timers like myself are replaced, forgotten as the new wave enters the mainstream flooding new over old, not that I mind, that's life in a way, as you say one night stands. sorry i'm rambling on!
