No wonder the selfie has become the new currency among kids (and simpletons). We have taught them that its okay to be self-obsessed, forsaking all others in a quest for 'ME'.
I have watched "talent show" judges deliberately split up friends and family on TV with a vague promise of 15 minutes of fame. They split them with relish - perhaps deliberately to show the flake-ness of being in the spotlight - perhaps out of badness to show how the 'Japanese knotweed' of popularity has made erstwhile bonds irrelevant and redundant.
The fog may be on the mountain J, but there are still decent foghorns like your poetry to alert us.

oh those fences ..a vivid image i have in reading ..such a dangerous thing to wrap electric fence around such a wet and meaty organ ..short circuits seem inevitable ...whew! and i really like the mole hills and mountains contrast ...as a "kid" boys had disagreements that could end in a fist fight that lasted not more than about 3 minutes with half the school watching, not "ganging" .. today our children are not safe anywhere .. gang mentality is vicious and numbing even the smallest of slights is met with slaughter ..Chicago is a devastated city ..and Detroit as well .. they use to be so vibrant as economic centers ... maybe there will be change eh!? i can also read a lost romance in this jacob ..you seem to always leave room for many interpretations :)

i love reading around here :) lots of great stuff!
You take words, mould them around thoughts and nostalgia and turn them into art. Exceptional and beautiful. You know I would like the title of this, Jacob.
I read the reviews here...and the poem twice...you once were a possibility..smoke exhausted rituals...profound... like running through a meadow..of beautiful wildflowers...and then...you get stung by a yellowjacket...you can feel...this poem..
So meaningful...
Thank You...
