why are the tips of flames pale blue

why are the tips of flames pale blue

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

why are the tips of flames pale blue

out in the street,

tears for fears

tears of fear

burning and looting of hope

the signs are everywhere

winter is promising to be the harshest in a long time

even if there is not one flake of snow

or slate of ice

the forecast appears to indicate

we can look forward

to a cold shoulder year

with six extra weeks of frayed tempers

and hearts of lost tinder

freezing to the drafty fire

of empty blue reassurance.

nice poem Jacob... in one way it will definitely be a very COLD winter that could last a very long time... on the other side are those sparks and embers of a new wave of springtime frolicking fun in the sense that the clash between these weather fronts could very well be an ushering in a far better world.. of course Baldwin said it well, "The Fire This Time" and as we use to say, "you don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind is blowing", as neither blue nor red has ever been reassuring... sorry Jacob, added my own little images to your poem... but you do this much better than I...
