why are the tips of flames pale blueA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertowhy are the tips of
flames pale blue
out in
the street, tears for fears tears of fear burning and looting of
hope
the signs are everywhere winter is promising to
be the harshest in a long time
even if there is not one
flake of snow or slate of ice
the forecast appears to
indicate we can look forward to a cold shoulder year
with six extra weeks of
frayed tempers and hearts of lost
tinder freezing to the drafty
fire
of empty blue
reassurance.
