A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

writers on the storm

Cain has come back to life,

damn tree,

the wisdom of the apple wormed away

by infinite ego

trying to equal the knowledge

of the original gardener

well, the trip from Eden

to the edge of insanity is short

step out of line,

and the line dance is over....

we have over stepped our bounds of common sense

to dine at a common buffet,

each dish with a mutual ingredient:

fear

and Abel better start running

as fast as he can.

The never ending battle between good and evil continues. Sometimes I think that "good" and "evil" are simply concepts that have more to do with perspective than anything else, however in certain circumstances, the lines that separate the two seem more clear to me than ever. If "good" is not good for everyone, then how can it really be "good"? Raising the next question, who will stand for those who can't defend themselves against the evil directed at them? Who will do this if the Abel's of the world stay quiet and run?

Over stepped the bounds of common sense, all that made me think of is who our incoming president is going to be. The person he chose to build his cabinet of 4000 people is already bad news in the media. Too much ego and too big a mouth. Sorry, this is the thoughts your write brought to mind. Valentine

dear Jacob... Well, we have eaten baked apples with butter and brown sugar with a dash of cinnamon... so there have been some improvements. Cain and Able... Adam and Eve... What about the snake who encouraged Eve... What did he have under his sleeve!? Always a poet with a rhyme in time...!
Your poetry has set me up with memories. Good words🎭 truly, Pat

Jaco erin-cilberto,
I can see how fear can be the result of stubborness-rebellion. Great poem; actually really thought provoking and intense. kathy.
