in the middle of whatever

in the middle of whatever

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

in the middle of whatever

night's wrath,
memories ignite dreams
the fire sears philosophies
into paranoid ashes
burnt religion suffocates belief
the breaths become small pulses

a heart in the heat of longing
iced by past transgressions
love disguised in astronomical mask

the stars lie
the moon grins
and to my chagrin

i wake without
as always....

the stars and moon are evil at times Jacob and in dreams often skewer us... very strong and insightful last two lines Jacob... almost as bad as waking thinking she is still there only to find it is the pillow you are holding...

some nightmares it is good to wake up from though...

An trip to the twilight zone by the fireside, no better place to peruse life's idiosyncrasies!

An enriching, reflective reverie Jacob, particularly enjoyed this as I can relate entirely!

That's a powerful close Jacob. Dreams lift us high but we wake feeling all the more deflated when we get thrown back to reality.
