season's indecision

season's indecision

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

season's indecision

my October girl
wrapped in maple colors
wardrobe of tentative sky
she sees her breath
in the breeze that can't make up its mind

and i, the shivering tree in front of her
hiding the leaves of my book of poetry
under a cold drizzle,

because i know her unsettled heart
might blow my words into flight
cause severe uncertainty

as to whether the new spring
will have her in it.

I like the way you brought your life into "Season's Indecision." I enjoyed it very much and the connection of your book's leaves and you the shivering tree. Mist are also an effect I really find intriguing. Great one erin-cilberto.........................................Kathy

and me on the flip side ... coming into spring ... standing in the winds and getting a slight warmth in my bones, it's only teasing though ...

yes, just enough teasing sometimes to make us fall for it...thank you, KWP...

Multiple layers in this one. The changing of the seasons, a "seasonal romance" -- something wanted, but not returned. Very beautiful.

As certain as autumn is the season of capricious breeze, is the uncertainty that accompanies the female of the species. But that of course, though we may seem to deny, is a vital part of the attraction and the charm.

I could picture the multicolored leaves flying through the air....just as words fly through the poet's psyche. In the spring, perhaps a new "leaf" will fall at your feet. The personification, metaphor, and imagery are wonderful in this one, Jacob. Lydi**
