October's Warning

October's Warning

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

October's warning

the chill of you

yet the thrill of you

icicle tongue warms to mine

together a melting

humid breeze embraced

we drift,

you try to be so cool

but underneath the snowfall

the ground is a soft heart

and we are like unaccustomed grass

pleading for the rain of love.

Seasonal analogies are always so gorgeous. Having lived up in the north I can relate, I do however love the flip side of seasons her in the Southern Hemisphere.

Though the chill can be rather lovely beneath a sunny sky. Lovely job j. R x

thank you, Rach.

I anticipate October's chill as somewhat of a thrill. It's a transitional month, when we begin to cocoon ourselves, like the grass underneath the crusts of snow.

Beautiful analogy here, Jacob!
