Inaudible Whispers

Inaudible Whispers

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Inaudible Whispers

secrets,

decrepit composure

eyes hiding shadows

everyone's about their day

but i can't toss the night of you

over my shoulder,

so i carry secrets

and hush others' stares

with a stolid gaze

inside i'm still outside your heart

but zip us into embrace

just for show

they will never know,

and i'll just keep walking

into sunsets

like i have some idea

of where i am going

a secret

my own heart keeps

from me.
