A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

tracks

i run to your scent

bloodhound heart

focused

gaining ground

paws trembling as they barely touch earth

howling at the inconsiderate moon

as it hides from your light

and keeps me from finding mine

distance again wags its weary tail

and i lie by a large elm

waiting for a breeze to perfume you back to me

so i have purpose again

Our love for someone makes us develop a craving for the subtle things that take us to their memories.
This longing for something is sweetly presented in your write.
I liked these verses:And keeps........ Mine
Waiting............
........... Again.
Thanks for sharing.:-):-):-)

There is nothing more loyal than a dog's love and more pulling than that scent of a love we have consumed and made our own. I often become lost trying to keep up with a familiar scent. Great lines here, Jacob.

Without love where are we? We all need to feel needed. We search for that feeling...desiring the desire. "perfume you back to me"....love that phrase. Lydi*
