a new run

a new run

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

a new run

he used to just sit and watch
vacant eyes wishing to blink away the blank
now the channel has been changed

and his show is back on the air
his voice concurrently full of laughter
his eyes dance with the stars

his life renewed
for another season.

Great line, vacant eyes wishing to blink away the blank, life in front of the TV reminds me of the nothingness of enjoyment.

Regards,
Al

His life renewed...I like that.

Familiar comforts who get confirmed can give us a special lift. We can identify with certain shows so much that we exaggerate in our appreciation of them. Same with football teams etc...

You capture that well here!

Sometimes we feel like life is just seasonal re-runs. As always, an enjoyable read.

Hmm? Cycles of life and love. Yet when it is not a "show", or entertainment, the effect of cancelling the series can be rather devastating.
I guess one must just sit back and enjoy the chips and pop for now and be thankful for the experience between commercial breaks.
A great capture here Jacob.

Sometimes getting back with an old flame is hotter than what the first spark created.

comfort has a tendency to be found when re visiting your favorite sitcoms, etc...like an old friend, just like a favorite novel/song, etc. -- amazing metaphors, that are tinged with sensitivity and quite thought-provoking. my favorite all time scitom is seinfeld...i love my constanza lol --
always a pleasure re visiting your ink drops, jacob. thank you for sharing - X
