Though there may be intermissions, While there is breath, there is still a zest for life, a spark that cannot be wholly extinquished, though it may sometimes seem that way.
Age is no barrier, this I have found in my parents. My father is now in his seventies, four years ago he was diagnosed with CML , (Chronic myeloid leukaemia,) but his eyes still dance with the stars.

I like this and the comparison. Makes me think of someone stuck in a rut, year after year, no zest for life and then bam. Something, some person or event gives him something to live for again.
And so the story continues...
