nothing left for that rainy dayA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertonothing
left for that rainy day swiftly
accumulating a piggy bank filled with coins of
regrets, life hasn't made the
sense i hoped it would...
saving memories seems a
trifle now all i spent on love, in
love and about love no money back guarantees
for the heart we put steep down
payments on emotions
and then live broke on
the interest, or better yet, the
disinterest,
hardly a quarter left
for the gum ball machine we stroll down memory
lane panhandling for a few
golden smiles but copper facsimiles is
all we get
and a ceramic belly
bloated with compunction.
