the piercing quiet

the piercing quiet

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the piercing quiet

fencing with commitment

the wound was slight,

but the poison ran deep

a slight touch to the heart

the blade unsure,

a cut like Hamlet's

no cure,

just a matter of time

until i fell to the tombs

listless

asking that you might have a good word for me

in future,

while all stood aghast,

watching my fervor for love

bleed out onto a floor

of insurrection

and as the distrusting Dane said,

"the rest is silence"

The piercing quiet after the finality and the reality of love when both rest in the silence and seek the good fortune of the future all entails. A wonderful and masterful write...:)..........................

You are welcome. Jacob...:)...................
"This above all....to thine own self be true!" When love bleeds out, it is time to save yourself. Others can give you advice, but only YOU can follow it. Wonderful metaphor. Lydi**

We witness quite a handful when it comes to seeing love through the eyes of our subject of interest

Their insecurities and fears is the prominent and first thing we notice

and we bleed at times

until we learn they are human and we are too

then mercy takes over
bringing two people even closer

Really well written
