a gardener's motif

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

a gardener's motif

there is a trace of you

in a bed of roses,

a whiff of wanting

to pick your innocence

and press it into a book of everlasting love

there is a trace of you

but that garden has no pillows

and only the imprint of your heart

is what i have left

to rest my head upon

when the moon's thorns

remind me.

The scent of roses, linger...even after the flowers have gone, and somehow, the heart remembers, even if it's just a tune. This is lovely j.
