a gardener's motifA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
there
is a trace of you in a bed of roses, a whiff of wanting to pick your innocence and press it into a book
of everlasting love
there is a trace of you but that garden has no
pillows and only the imprint of
your heart
is what i have left to rest my head upon when the moon's thorns remind me.
