nature's laces

nature's laces

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

nature's laces

a countryside of coloration

our hearts the scenery

golden leaves, the fresh breath of autumn

a bit of passionate mist hanging over mountains

of tree lined emotion,

down a worn path

our shoes click in cadence

we blink at the signs

that alert us of future possibilities

hiking the trail of love

backpacks full of promise

we stop for a respite

and then kiss our way

back to that collateral cadence

that keeps us walking hand in hand.

a collateral cadence
brilliant
and respites like these are what we all need.

We used to love to go camping in the mountains during early Fall when the leaves start to change and the morning air is cool. It's about as romantic a trip as you can get.

wow wonderful metaphors on nature and love and i wonder if autumn represented a new beginning of love, with a goodbye to yesterday's.

You are welcome my friend.
I love the blend of nature and romance . . . The first too lines express such expansiveness and art about love- we feel so much bigger- as if the whole surrounding of nature is a reflection of love. Such beautiful images- the mist calls up for me the tears that sometimes come after deeply felt intimacy is expressed. I love the worm path- many lovers have walked this way before and left the signs of what could be for the two who walk in perfect rhythm with each other now. "Backpacks full of promise"- I feel the anticipation of the picnic of love-making in a meadow perhaps, before going on together- not the shallow love where two lovers part- but their rhythm found again down the path of their relationship, hand in hand. It is an exquisite write that I identify so much with, I can picture the ups and downs of this hike, with the two still walking hand in hand. Romantic and delightful metaphors that blend easily and deepen the understanding. Thank you!

Seasons and love seem to fit so well a poetic marriage of sorts. Love most certainly is a journey of seasons and you've captured it beautifully here x

I like the connection to another soul here. My days have been more solitary of late. It reminds us all we do not travel any trail alone... I'm not ready for Autumn this year. Ha.
