A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

ball point tip

among the expressions

finite writing

a measure of love

like a mug of coffee

with no refill

he's a wealth of sugar sweet

anomaly

but inconsiderate cream with his

callous stir,

her heart caffeined into submission

she wants endless cups

he wants her to pay the bill,

leave the table available

for his next customer.

"leave the table available for his next customer." That says a lot. There are many men who fail to see or appreciate what they have due to their own selfishness. As usual, your comparisons are spot on. I also like (oddly enough) the way you've ended some of your lines with verbs a well as the compact sentence structure.

I'm learning, slowly, but I'm learning.

Nice writing Jacob.

thank you, Relic.

You know, I'm pretty sure I've said this before here, and I admit, I probably said it far too many times. But every time. I look at the bottom of my now empty coffee mug. I can't help, but ponder life's mysteries. "A mug of coffee with no refill" say it ain't so. ..:) but, it happens. As with anything in life. It's just selfish to want endless cups...moving on...to a cup of sweet tea. love this and all your metaphors. Always a pleasure to read you j.
