A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

unsure of the rhyme that cut us in two

we hid in the would's

of each other's could's

got lost in the might

left by each other's flight

never found reason

for another season

this love had only a spring

and in fall, lost its song

as we ventured into the future

torn open like a suture

on a wound

that became infected too soon

a melody

of serendipity

never meant to heal

a scar that only

pretended to be real.

Another relatable poem -- the sting of some long done relationships can be bitter, despite the brevity of the relationship, and despite the passage of time -- been on both sides of this equation -- a lot of regrets on either end.

A rebound relationship never does last, but while it is happening, it can be so sweet. "this love had only a spring and in the fall, lost its song." The regret hangs heavily in this line....some things are just not meant to be. The imagery and metaphor are wonderful here. Lydi**
