of Course

of Course

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

of Course

celebrate the fine print

those words barely legible

or audible

the catch under the hook

the one that leaves the ears bleeding

caption cacophony

the noise of you leaving

deafening silence

the commercials never indicated

outcome

that fine print is not so fine

when reality strikes,

we are enticed to another

the deal is made

no returns

just a broken heart

and no recourse.

a very clever dual metaphor, for life, love, and bad deals.

nope ...nothing to do but suck it up ...or do energetic battle for ones rights ;) ..once in a while that actually works ... but "Of Course" a soft heart ...battered and bruised ...for them ..its very hard ...:(

Yes...what can be written of love or heard that will change a heart or mind bent on believing what it will? Such a delightful melancholy woven in this poem.
