I love this one- a fan of brainstorming - my husband hates that word - I am defintely a glutton for gathering a bunch of lightning rods in a room and challenging the thunder gods to knock our socks off. I don't know if I like knowledge as much as I do just raw ideas that haven't become knowledge yet. Knowledge feels too serious for my taste- cuz when I got a masters everyone treated me like I was knowledgable because I absorbed other people's theories. Okay, maybe it's a little self-absorbed like selfies are- glorying in the synergy of eccentric souls - but I don't care- it's fun! As fun as driving through a lightning storm with a twister forming far enough away to be exciting without being dangerous. Yes to being bent! We're all too damned straight in this society- we need a little bent logic for a change. Okay, my ramble is over- I really liked this one a lot- thanks.

love your idea of bent logic....i like your reply much better than the poem itself.
"new ideas become the rainbow"....love that line! We are so proud of our ideas....our inspirations. Life is a storm and getting anything accomplished in this crazy world can seem like trudging through molten lava. Still, it is all worth it if we learn from it. Lydi**

yes, it is definitely worth it...thank you, Lydi..
That is amazing. Opportunities are there at every step in our lives, it is us who must learn to make the best use of them. An opportunity missed and an opportunity taken advantage of shapes one's life differently, both of these will have different culminations. Life can be approximated to a battle. We have competition everywhere. Plus, if we sit idle then we can't achieve anything at all. This poem of yours is one of the best pieces I have ever read. Keep writing.
Love the second stanza. Ideas can be anything from a spring shower to a tornado heading straight for a trailer park. Depends on how much trouble you could potentially get into if you act on it.
There is never a piece of writing from you Jacob that does not stir me somehow, to understand we have no choice but to evaluate and grow with that wisdom and we are seldom ever the same after that jolt, superb :)

You know I've always been a fan of your flawless use of metaphor and analogy. We all must live within the beast and only with knowledge does the travel sometimes seem easier. And yes, knowledge can be both good and bad and sometimes feel like lightning and thunder claps. Those selfies we take are the once in a lifetime imprints we leave on our journey.
This rings so true. Awesome.

love your insights, my friend...thank you for your words...
I love this, Jacob. I have had so many storms in my life, but I've also seen a lot of rainbows after the storm. I've always loved them. I find solace in thunderstorms and love watching them as long as they are not too severe. I love the whole poem, but I especially love these lines, "the survivors always come out the other end
of the twister
a bit bent
but with newfound logic
and understanding of the beast..."
I understand, because I have lived it. Very profound write. Excellent job, my friend.
