You have pictured- what is the most fierce challenge the world faces today- in a heart-touching manner. Sometimes I ponder that how can some people take a gun in their hand and empty its magazine on their fellow humans. Terrorist organizations- like the Islamic State- mislead people by saying that by killing non-Muslims, you can make God happy, you can please him. Actually, those who kill people on the name of religion must be told that all religions are equal and teach the same thing- love for fellow humans, and respect for their respective religions.
Hatred has no medicine. It actually eats one from within, and this is what the leaders of terrorist organizations induct in their recruits- they are destroyed from within and consequently, are left with no humanity.
Your poem is just superb. Keep writing.

i was watching a series on gangs in the USA ...the two they were looking into were in Texas ...two very violent gangs fighting over drug control ... some ex and some active gang members from both "parties" agreed to be interviewed ... i was stunned (tho i shouldn't be) be the cavalier attitude they had about killing anyone who was in their way ... anyone! both sides talked about the culture of hate they revered towards each other .. if a member of one gang ran into one from the other "side" they had to "get into it" ... "take care of business" .. they looked like they were in their 20's ... such tragedy ... very graphic closing sir ... its all insanity :(

Wow, this is a brilliant write, Jacob. I absolutely love it. It is a sad day in our country when the protectors need protecting. I especially love the last six lines. Life does have a tendency to crack all of us in one way or another. The last two lines say it all. I find this to be a very poignant poem. Well done. :)

I have to say this poem is indescribable to me, it has a certain air to it that makes it really compelling and it draws you in masterfully. It was just great!
"eliminates lives for revenge or fun"....a tragic commentary on the events of the past few weeks. Right now, a prisoner has escaped from the courthouse in Broward County....where I live. There has been a three hour search already. People tend to help the criminals and sympathize with them. The apple is rotten....and I fear it is more than one in the bushel. Excellent metaphor. Lydi**

A poetic truth, I can abs relate to your well-chosen words. I also like the colors you added to your writing and the metaphors, they read fabulous. Another fav for me by you, I think. The last two stanzas read so well, something you feel like reading several times.
