Reminds me of the song, "My eyes adored you"...not the words, but the mood. Standing in the hallway, watching while the one you long to be with is smiling and flirting with another. Oh yes, I think all of us can relate to that. Being tongue tied because you want so badly to get to know that one person....and still wondering years later about "what ifs". You went back to your youth this week with your writing. I am enjoying every one of these. Lydi**

thank you for your words, Lydi... read morei still feel like i am 18 sometimes....:)
I read this one several times just to drink in the mood, the general tone and your exquisite words. You seem to have nice yet poignant memories of your younger ages while I wished I could change or delete those past years of mine somehow... Though maybe I think differently about it in some years. I especially adore your two closing lines, again so relatable to me.

there are always the memories we would like to forget, but think of it this way....all of the experiences are necessary to make us who we are now...so i imagine we need both the good and bad to be tallied together.
i am sorry that you had ones that you wish you could delete...could not have been pleasant ones.

Unfortunately some of those things still have an impact on my life which makes it even harder to forget and mostly important, to move on. I'm glad that you're fond of your memories though sad if only circumstances force you to separate from someone rather than falling out of love.
