years too late from years too soon

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

years too late from years too soon

a new roof

won't compensate for leaks of you

i have felt in my eyes

since we walked out on each other

indifferently

so many tears ago

The pain never goes away, no matter how we try to view it.

There are some things that just can't be covered up or repaired.

thank you, KL...yes somethings just lie crushed and dormant....

...but not that indifferently, one thinks. A bunch of good in a tight space, and that just looks easy.

No shelter is strong enough to keep those feelings out.
Love that last line.

When someone touches us deeply it's impossible to ever forget them no matter how many years (or tears) go by - this is very relatable Jacob. Really good :)

You are most welcome. Have a great day!~ :)
Wow, so heartbreaking. Even with new patterns and experiences, the mind trickles back to the old times. Nostalgia can be sneaky like that. "So many tears ago" really grabs me. Excellent poem.

A tiny ouch piece on old love again. I guess we'll never forget this form of pain, the one that had cut us so deeply, it still lingers in the dark corners of our minds.

Unfortunately, yes... You're welcome.
"So many tears ago"....what a poignant line! No, a new love will not wipe out old romantic regrets. Still, life goes on and we do learn from every relationship. Good one, Jacob. Lydi**
