billions of heartbeats laterA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
pterodactyl
wings dinosaur disdain, still
felt like you were some kind
of prehistoric love
that died in a meteor
shower of selfishness and i? the Triceratops to your
T-Rex indifference
found myself a satiating
meal for your greedy appetite leaving nothing but a
few small remains
bones of a heart to fossilize and be found millions of
years later
by some Anthropologist
who may piece the relics of me back
together, enough to make sense of what i once was.
