the jury sentenced me

to life, 

with you,

 

i have savored 

every moment of confinement----

especially all the privileges

 

earned from sharing 

with the perfect cellmate---

 

so much so,

i shall turn down any chance

for parole

 

and hope our sentence

becomes an eternal essay
