when the clouds become us

when the clouds become us

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

when the clouds become us

some people cry blue rainbows
into the dead of night,
and their rock hard pillows
substantiate the pain of life

rain and tears not distinguishable
they are all water under a damaged bridge
the heart's trestles beyond repair
some people cry blue rainbows

color blind emotions follow the arc
and love sits atop some mountain of longing
moons after the deluge dries up
some people cry blue rainbows

in a sky that is reluctant to clear
no matter how hard the sun tries
to shine on them.

An entirely lovable piece, I am especially drawn to the repetition of the line"some people cry blue rainbows ", a great image, matches the content so well, I can relate to it anyways. You reflect feelings.

"no matter how hard the sun shines on them"

that last line - it's so true of us. How strange we are, eh.

I think this is very well placed
Sadness and how it comes through ......

I believe we all cry in very different ways
Some illuminate light through tears
Others extinguish life through sadness

All that matters is whether the public is sensitive enough to spot sadness
and alleviate it

I guess this is why tears leave the human body from our eyes
Something very visible and open to the public
Because no one should cry alone ......

A broken heart is sometimes a lengthy recovery.
Some never fully get back to what they know as normality,
this is so well written as always my friend, Thanks for sharing and b-blessed!

It is tough to fight one's way out of the dark -- some do it for a while, and then crawl right back in. Some never make it out.

...
I agree with Pryde. Living life is a choice easier said than done. The heart is a muscle that torn, can be reluctant to rebuild...having memory and all...

Feels like a flood...
as some drown themselves
trying for the ark to reach that resting mountain.

they even decide to lay their head on rocks to comfort them

those that constantly cry "victim!"

How true J some people create their own weather and live by it, be it sunshine or raining blues!

thank you, andrew...yes, "their own weather"
for sure.
Ah yes ... why is sadness so seductive. For me it was because I felt if I let go of the melancholy I would be letting go of the love but then I realized by holding onto the melancholy I was strangling the love. I might meme that. Great write as always, friend:)
