growing upA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
on the
rock ledge, outside your house on a
quiet street muffled laughter inflected words, infected spirits, intersected lips
the transistor radio
played our song and then melted into
burning ambition the future became a hot
static but we cared not, as hands explored the
dial of our deliverance
into tomorrows we
fantasized but inevitably met our separate ways,
yet, i bet the moon
remembers don't you?
