Iscariot's Kiss

Iscariot's Kiss

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Iscariot's Kiss

curl your cross against my chest

your troubles will crucify themselves

against stoic skin

we will shed a few cold tears together

then move on

to another Calvary

another unsuspecting

Samaritan

waiting to lend a heart.

Some hearts bleed for everyone and this is ultimately their downfall.

Having been married to a pathological liar, I can relate to this one, all too well.

absolutely, and for me, the gift keeps on giving, because now he lies to my kids.
Serial deception is an art that needs a very cold and calculating heart. A very powerful writing that portrays the chilling nature of deception and betrayal and those who are masters of this art. Much appreciated...

You are most welcome, Jacob.
Lots of anger in this one. After being a shoulder to lean on and a good friend, it is like a stab in the back...a kiss from Judas....when this supposed friend moves on. Makes a person cynical...and I can relate. Good one. Lydi**

Profound write, Jacob. The first thing that came to mind are the politicians. They kept on promising just to get the votes but once elected they do nothing but betray the trust and confidence reposed to them by the people.

Interesting and skillful write. A notion of betrayal, false tears and promises (in respect of love). I love your expressive words.

If one knows she is being betrayed ... then who is doing the betraying. Was not poor Judas a pawn of God? The betrayer is never fully in possession of her/his faculties. If she could see clear then other choices would be made. A most fantastic piece this:)

thank you for your very kind review, Pryde.

Your words remind me of truces made, deals betrayed all in the name of peace but history has revealed that all too often they weren't actually made with the best of intentions. Brother against brother, country against country looking out for what is best for them rather than what is best for humanity. Judas betrayed with his kiss the King of Kings, and we still have leaders giving us promises only to be undone by betrayal of their word. And they move on in the name of goodness........waiting to lend a heart to help like wolves clothed in sheep skin's clothing.

the yearning for real is here
crosses with no real connections
no real touch to the skin
fake and superficial tears

then hope- that there are the real deal people out there... who give a s**t
maybe further from Christ but closer to His truth and message...

Hmm, I see people getting too deep without the friendship connection with this one, like someone throwing emotions out there hoping for any sign of sympathy but not having the trust or connection of a receiving party...interesting write - I smell a phony :)
