On top of the world, cotton candy love, memories that evoke the tenderness of the past. You had me wishing for that Ferris wheel ride once more.

Al

Lovely! Reminiscing about the girl who was your first love. All those pleasant moments spent with her- all the happiness, all the felicity that she had brought. Recollecting sweet memories of the past- a 50-year old past. And then you wake up and you feel as if her hand is still in yours. Very beautifully written and presented. Keep writing, sir. Glad, you shared this work of yours.
' i closed my eyes as we spun out of control .. i felt your breath in the eye of my sky.. '
First love, any love... remains a sort of mystery. A sort of was it really like that, was it as passionate and sweet or, have my thoughts around that time moulded it to another dimension.
Here you've created a poem that is more a mini book, a line by line account of what was, what's recalled and how. You really do know how to capture attention and hold it, start to finish.
I heard first love is never forgotten and this poem convinces me of the magical connection of young love. Sadly, I never had a teenage love nor am I the first love of the man I love. Reading this,I feel I have missed out on so much magic. Much appreciated...

Experience has proven that it's better to live with the memories than ruin them altogether. We remember the way things were, the attachment to feeling, while people change. We do, they do ... change. It's not necessarily always for the better.
I love the line, "I felt your breath in the eye of my sky."
There is something magical about childlike loves that last.
Where that romantic ferris wheel, never gets old- or the person you ride it with either.
Still the same thrill.
A romance that misses like An Affair to Remember on top of the Empire State building?
Maybe you shouldn't bite your tongue?
Not so sure.
