that thing that goes round and roundA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertothat thing that goes
round and round
cotton
candy kisses, on the Ferris wheel of
love you held my hand and i
bit my tongue
wanting that embrace on
the top of the Empire State Building in a carnival dream i closed my eyes as we
spun out of control i felt your breath in
the eye of my sky a dark night's lingering another ticket, another
ride
then i woke up as we
disembarked still feeling your hand
in mine even though 50 years had
passed and knew your beauty
would persevere for one more ride,
if only the tickets were
still redeemable...
