reversible trends

reversible trends

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

reversible trends

finality

comes after senility

comes after futility

comes after accountability

comes after plausibility

comes after the possibility

of becoming a liability

because of deniability

that we strove to the best of our ability

to become what we became when we were becoming

what we would be before

finality

I like the way you took something that is inevitable and irreversible, and made it reversible.

I read this and then read it again in reverse. I'm sure I'm not the first, but it was really interesting.
Like knowing what's coming next. But if only in real life we could be more proactive in defending ourselves to hold off the inevitable as much as possible.

Finality is the period at the end of the sentence...only. The story is never-ending :) Always an intrigue...

thank you, my friend...yes, each one.

I wonder if the trends are reversible. Finality. The way I read this is someone looking back on all the things in life and feeling a bit of regret. Some missed chances, some decisions we wished we didn't make. Denying the things that are. Trying too hard and living too little.

very insightful review, Raven...thank you for your visit.

i find meaning in my existence now that i am still capable of finding meaning in my life and the world, that is to say before i am too old and just plain dying, when i am certain i am going die from old age - i hope when i am old, i will find more meaning in my life - to have lived meaningfully is an ultimate blessing - nice philosophical write, my friend :) love it :)

best,
steph

After reading this many times and awakening from a computer nap, I somehow came to the finality of thought.
What i think is: That this poem is Geometric related .where the final line is actually a circle

Quite messy Jacob but in the finality I'll wave to you and say hello goodbye.

Sounds like an FBI agents answer if you asked for their personal opinion on evolutionary theories. Enjoyable word play here J

A cleverly written piece that made my tongue in a state of "instability" going back and forth right and left which was a nice exercise :)
