dreaming of the Riviera

dreaming of the Riviera

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

dreaming of the Riviera

i live in the garage of life

an old polished Buick

engine still capable

but wheels too sterile

leaning on a Jack of potential

door's closed to motive

lights incarcerated

bulbs weak,

wild night's driving

a past tense

i live in the garage of life

look brand new,

but feeling like the antique

i am,

give me a spin

i might surprise you

but make sure to open that door first

i don't see very well

and might back into a stall....

love the humor ..so ralateable! thats a car put up and waiting for that just right buyer ... "sterile wheels" ..."Jack" supported ...(i confess to Jamison in a Hot tottie from time to time;) i see an old 32 Ford Coupe in that garage ... still polished ... should not be up on jacks ... glad my own engine has not had need for polishing ...yet :} ... and tho i fall short ..that old Ford is classy as hell! ;) love your poem jacob ..it a great ride ...

yes indeed ..gatta love em ...a tune up a year is good prescription :)
Another "WOW".....I am a 1953 model and my engine is not what it used to be for sure. A wild night's driving is a distant and ever-fading memory. Wish I could not relate so well to this one. Lydi**

Thanks, Jacob.
there is a reluctance/hesitation to let go and be the boy you were once who dreamed and let his dreams take him places - i know you still have it in you, jacob, the boy is always alive, why not let him out sometimes, for old time's sake :)
