partly cloudy with a chance of love

partly cloudy with a chance of love

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

partly cloudy with a chance of love

a Frito's morning,

crisp air you can take bites of---

dip into the greening lawns

and blossoming pears

the sun bounces off car chrome

in dancing laughter

the shine inside is deep

as we inhale the scent of proclamation

spring is on the table now

perfect white clouds to snack upon

like a ranch dressing in which to immerse smiles

if i partake too much of this glorious gala

it will leave me no room for summer's dinner

but then, we only live once

so , please pass the chips

and i will warm  to your soft cumulus.

a very optimistic and celebratory write on springtime - makes me thirst for a glass of cold lemonade with a basket of fried potatoes, with sour cream and onion and cheese dip :)

thank you, steph...

Like this a lot, an almost photographic precision of the imagery, but bound to original metaphors that reinforce the veracity of the poem, great.

The title reminds me of partly cloudy with a chance of meatballs. My kids love this movie but back to the poem- clever and funny, the analogy is perfect with, weather, Spring and love all leaving their mark Great poem from the Master J.

The end sounds a little suggestive -- at least to me -- I have an urge to run with that -- perhaps I will, tomorrow, of course, with me it won't be nearly so subtle. :)
