A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

questions in rhetorical mirrors

would i be labeled as

a casual poet?

an accidental poet?

finding my way dangerously delving

into the unknown

wearing the blinders of misconception

misleading my readers with uneven rhyme

eccentric semantics,

sauntering subliminally

in sarcastic fusion,

i can make you laugh,

but there's an edge, even to the chuckle

so buckle your reading belts

the journey's half the smile

let me take you for awhile

on that acrobatic highway of confusion

i am sure by the end,

when you put the reading material back in the rack,

put your seats back

in the upright position

you'll figure out what i am

and maybe a bit more than that

who you are...

there is a saying that our choice of reading material tells/reveals more about us than it reveals about the author - i don't think you are an accidental poet, jacob - you have the poetic gift, but those who are blessed like you are also possess more sense and inspiration to hone that talent - thank you for sharing yours with us
