in the key of contentment

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

in the key of contentment

i may be the poet

but you're my instrumental lady

no words needed,

you are a combination of chords,

of melodious eccentricities

and they all play in sync

to make me smile

i want to write you a song

but you tell me just to hold you

and sway to the beat

of our love,

now i pray the DJ

will re-spin the mood

at least one more time

so i can teach my steps

the memory

and feel your movement

without hearing a sound.

Jacob I enjoyed the dance here with you. Feeling the music of the heart.
I enjoyed it as a two heart step Half is the Lyrics and half the melody.

One little thing though.. For the way i read it, the last line seems not to fit... for surely I heard the song as I danced it. I might suggest trading the word audible instead of hearing..
But .... that might change it too much seeing you craftfully weaved in the 3rd line No words needed.

Perhaps I shouldn't make any suggestion and enjoy it as it is. I couldn't give my first impression on this if I didn't explain my experience. And that experience drew an argument with the last line. Because I heard every beat and felt the dance :-)
